Translational Neuropsychiatry through Neuromodulation Lab

Lab Overview

The goals of the Translational Neuropsychiatry Through Neuromodulation (TN²) Lab are to:

  • Advance our understanding and treatment of substance use and neuropsychiatric disorders
  • Adhere to principles of scientific rigor and scientific excellence
  • Provide individualized mentorship plans to meet the individual members’ career goals
  • Offer a safe and friendly environment that fosters teamwork and allows every member to grow and fulfill their potential.

The TN² lab investigates the neurobiology of substance use disorders and uses neuromodulation tools such as Low-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (LIFU), Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), and Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) to treat drug and alcohol addiction and related neuropsychiatric disorders. The goal of the lab is to identify neural biomarkers of craving and drug-seeking behaviors and leverage those findings to develop individualized clinical treatments with neuromodulation.
